Alpha-hydroxy acid (AHA) is known for its keratolytic properties but can cause irritation in high concentrations. The AHA in Oto-Aid is bound in a molecule complex amphoteric hydroxy complex (AHC). As a result, AHA is gradually released and the keratolytic properties of AHA are retained without the risk of irritation.
